We visit the Woodlands BJJ Academy every time we are in town. We live in Georgia, and when traveling our kids like to visit different bjj schools.

The head instructor, Cody, is great with the kids. He is also super knowledgeable with technique. He has went above and beyond to welcome our son and daughter. The other students, coaches have also been great.

The staff takes great pride in the mats staying clean, which is not always the case with some schools.

Really a great place to train, if you are local or just passing through.

My kids and I love this place. Coach Cody and his wife Raven are admirable warm-hearted kind people. Cody is devoted to each of his students. He truly care’s in helping his students reach their full potential.

Best combat gym!!! The instructors and people training there are all very polite and welcoming. The coaches always are very encouraging and allow people to go at their own pace and develop at their own rate. The gym has very warm and welcoming aura, would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try something new and either get into shape, compete as an athlete or improve their overall health and mental well being. Kerrville is very lucky to have this place

My girlfriend and I came into the gym with zero grappling experience and were both given the warmest welcome. Everyone was super friendly and invested in our progress, helping as much as they could. Since then they’ve all become friends. There’s a wide variety of classes and skills, from beginner kids to advanced adults grappling, Muay Thai, and MMA. Coach Cody is an excellent teacher with an emphasis on safety and encouragement. 10/10 would recommend for both beginners and advanced grapplers!

I am new to BJJ. This school is very solid and a great place to train. Coach Cody is very professional and knowledgeable. He obviously lives the lifestyle and it is apparent in his devotion to the school and the success of his students. Very squared away.

I really appreciate that the school also offers Muay Thai training. I feel that BJJ and Muay Thai pair perfectly. Coach Matt is very knowledgeable and takes a lot of time working individually with his students. It truly shows his commitment to the art. Top notch training and instruction.

My kids and I all train at The Woodlands. I've been amazed by the speed of our progress, and I attribute it to two things.
1. Cody Wood is an exceptional coach who knows how to meet people where they are and show them what they're capable of. He also knows how to keep the kiddos engaged.
2. The atmosphere at The Woodlands is ideal for development. I've been especially impressed by the way in which more experienced grapplers work with newbies to help them develop.
