We recently celebrated our son's 5th birthday at this martial arts studio, and I can't express how fantastic it was! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect.

The instructors (Nathan and Allyssa) were not only skilled in martial arts but also amazing with kids. They kept the little ones engaged, entertained, and, most importantly, safe. It was like having our very own superhero trainers at the party!

The studio itself was spotless, and you could tell they take pride in maintaining a clean and organized space. The setup for the celebration was thoughtful and well-coordinated. It felt like they had been hosting kids' parties forever because everything ran so smoothly.

What impressed us the most was the personal touch they added to the celebration. They tailored the activities to suit the age group, making it both educational and fun. Our son and his friends were buzzing with excitement, and we, as parents, couldn't have been happier.

If you're considering a martial arts studio for your child's birthday or even regular classes, look no further. This place is a gem, and the team here knows how to make memories that will last a lifetime. We're definitely considering enrolling our son in their classes after such a fantastic experience. Thank you, Master Hespen!

Highly recommended!

I resided primarily at the Martial Arts America Pleasanton school, but over my 16 years, I have trained many times at this San Ramon studio. The instructors, especially Senior Master Celina Hespen, epitomize what it is like to be a great taekwondo instructor in the modern world. Master Hespen enforces a level of discipline in all her students while also bringing a smile and lightheartedness to all her classes. She also sets an individual expectation level for each student, motivating them to reach their potential. I praise her for her balance of professionalism and command of respect with cordiality and warmth to every student and family. I will always look up to her as a great instructor and mentor.

Enthusiastic instructors keep it fun and keep the kids moving. Instructors are impressively efficient with the time and really keep the kids engaged. Heavy emphasis on respect, following directions and waiting their turn which is great for kids too. Love that they play fun games with the kids that build karate basics while keeping them interested. I wish they had an option of a class on Mondays, and I wish the classes were 45 minutes instead of 30. Also love that I pick which classes I want to attend each week. That flexibility allows us to not miss out. This place is great!

Don't bother going here to teach little kids anything, let alone karate. They accept 4year olds, so it can be the very first class most will be doing and mine got kicked out in the first 2 minutes! The assistant (a middle schooler) calling the shots! Wondering what was the expectation from a 4 year old on day 0 They themselves need lessons on patience and teaching young children and may be actual staff!! Worst experience!!

Good place for kids.
Only down side is the belt promotion fees which one has to pay almost every 2 months.
Belt promotion fees amount for kids is not justified. Charging $65 seems a lot when others charge half of this.

Martial Arts America is not a responsible company - they illegal hold mass gatherings and classes at San Ramon parks without permit, sometimes taking over parts of the park. There is 1 instructor for 50-80 kids and the kids are just running around. I would not recommend this school.

My 6-year old daughter started here 1 month ago. Exactly what we wanted as she is a bit shy and hasn't been involved in sports or any athletic activity outside of swimming. With the buddy class, she was able try it out with her cousin for free and to see if it something she'd be into. She was and still is. It's intense enough physically with games thrown in. The instructors make it fun and I really appreciate that she is exposed to female instructors. It is empowering. Also, there's a really good mix of boys and girls in the class and they get to interact with each other. No awkwardness. We are really pleased with our experience so far.
