Highly recommend this martial arts academy! The instructor, Master Doss, is truly committed to the students’ growth and development. We’ve noticed a huge boost in confidence in our son since he started training here. The mentorship between Master Doss and our son has been invaluable, and we’re so grateful for it. There’s a fantastic sense of community, and we really appreciate the strong connection between students, parents, and the instructor. It feels like one big family!

5 stars for Impact Martial Arts. My son was a very shy child, he came to class first day in tears. They took time cheering him up, had other kids talking to him and helped him get over his shyness. After 10 minutes he joined the class with everyone else and enjoyed every class after that. Master Doss and Ms. Jamie are awesome, very nice and patient to kids and the parents. They had party events for kids, belt tests. First thing they taught the kids is self defense from bullies and bad people. Huge positive changes on my kid after taking classes at Impact Martial Arts. Come in for their trial classes see if your child will like it.

We love that the classes are half an hour and that they meet 5 days a week. My son is 4 and is hard to keep him engaged for long. He does well here and master Doss includes all of his students through out the class. I can’t say enough about IMPACT. It’s a little family and we are happy to be a part of it.

My daughter has been attending classes here for almost a year now and we have had nothing but good experiences. My child is significantly more confident now than a year ago & loves training with peers her age under Master Doss. School can be a hard place for many kids and I’m thankful for the peace of mind I have knowing my daughter can stand up & defend herself if needed. Master Doss and Ms Jamie are some of the kindest people you will meet and that example shines on the young people in the class.

We’ve been with impact martial arts for almost a year. We have had a great experience and that’s why I took the time to write this. My daughter was struggling at school with concentration, focus, and following instructions. We tried a kids “gym-like” experience before, but we saw no real progress or sense of advancement and achievement. A teacher suggested us to try karate and we feel blessed to have found Impact.
There are several aspects we love about this academy. To start with, it’s a local family business. I think they have such a great balance between the knowledge and experience of Master Doss, and the kindness and detail oriented personality of Ms. Jamie. Master Doss has the credentials, but more than that he knows how to keep kids focused and interested. He has the ability to challenge and motivate kids to do their best while they learn and enjoy themselves. Kids truly respect and listen to him. I must say it took us around a month for my daughter to get used to the dynamics and routines of the class, but we were consistent and it has definitely been worth. She now enjoys the class a lot, we’ve seen her progress in staying focused and following instructions, she has earned and progressed with different belts (which really motivates her), and overall she has fun and has made new friends.
Another thing we value from the academy is the flexibility in the schedule which is so convenient. They recommend at least going 2 days a week but you can go up to 5 times a week for the same price. Also the location has enough parking places and space for parents (and siblings) to wait, observe and sometimes even interact with the kids. Finally, alongside with the class itself, they have certain perks for the kids which do make it a special experience overall such as having little “treasures” after a great class, or celebrating special occasions with a small party for belt test, Halloween and Christmas.
Overall we are thankful to be part of Impact.

Master Doss and his fiancee Jamie are the best in Austin! Master Doss teaches the kids respect, dedication and responsibility. Definitely enjoy having them as our martial arts family!

My son has been coming to Impact martial arts for about 4 months and Master Doss definitely pays special attention to the needs of the student. I have noticed a difference in the confidence, and willingness to help inside and outside of the home. Master Doss provides great instructions and helps master new skills. It’s a very motivating and fun class for the kids. I’d recommend Impact to friends and family. Looking forward to see how much more my son excels with the assist from Impact.
