Loved taking the classes so I signed up for a punch card last year for around $170. Called this year to find out how to put that toward classes now that I have time to take them and they told me that money is just gone and they can’t do anything. Yikes.

Called back because like… that’s $170 and I am pretty poor, and they explained that the class pass expires after 90 days. Sure, okay. However, the way the front desk person was speaking to me was unsympatheic, snippy, and condescending. Deeply considering never going back. This is not the first time I’ve given them money and gotten nothing back, either, as they also didn’t give me back my $50 deposit when I returned my fencing mask, promising “you’ll get it next time you come in for classes.” Right. Sure.

I’ve now given them over $200 with nothing to show for it, and the rudeness of the front desk person on top of all of that makes them come off as money-grubbing and uncaring. This went from a place I was recommending to everyone, to a place I’m going to warn people about.

I started archery here after taking it at another place for 4 years. Sadly, the owner of that shop passed away and they are closing. But even after only 3 lessons, I have learned quite a bit here. It seems friendly and casual, which I like. The sign up, website and structure are a bit confusing to a new person. But I like it enough to sign up for another session.

One of the coolest, well thought out and informative courses I've ever took. Wisdom and insight that does not match the price range and I mean that in a good way. The amount of history and practicality they teach you in such a short period is masterful.

Took their Taste of the Knightly Arts class. Was very pleased with the hands on instruction and friends I made along the way. Whenever I tell people I took up swordfighting, I always get a good reaction and confidence boost. Never really had a sport to call my own since I'm more of the nerdy type, so I am pretty happy! Highly recommend.

An instructor at this gym is advising me on a video project that involves swordfighting. I have been inside the gym twice. From both visits it is clear that the gym fosters an open and inviting atmosphere. Based on my experience, Jesse is an extremely knowledgeable person and radiates positivity. If you are interested in getting involved or learning this style of martial arts, I recommend starting with Forteza.

First of all the intro class "Taste of the Knightly Arts" is a great experience. Very methodical and step by step, lots of explanation and hands on help with immediate feedback, crucial for learning and developing skills.

Secondly, great service. I bit off more than I could chew and signed up for a class that overlapped with my wedding and had to quit halfway through. They offered me a redo for free as a 'wedding gift' which was really nice. Highly recommended!

Forteza is an absolutely wonderful place. The staff and students here are very welcoming to all people, regardless of race, gender, etc., as well as previous martial arts experience. Plus, you get to fight with swords.
