Tres beau parcours très technique car peu large mais idéalement situé à 30 minutes du Strip en taxi

Desert Pines is a well designed course by Pete Dye. The fairways are bowl shaped to send slight misses back in play, a great feature for such a tight layout.

The course conditions have deteriorated since a few years ago. The greens today were little slow and bumpy. There were lots of ball marks on the greens! The pin locations were set in awkward places. The tees were placed on downhill lies on too many holes.

The biggest problem is the many bushes that are overgrown, full of leaves and debris, and make it difficult to find balls if the fairway is missed. I lost 3 balls and usually can play the same ball for several rounds

My recommendation is to trim all the bushes all over the course so that players can quickly locate their ball, and keep play moving.

The bunkers were awful, most were too wet, or too hard. The lakes looked dirty, but that was minor compared to the bush problem.

I won a tournament here on the Golf Channel Amateur Tour, and don’t remember the bushes being such a problem. Hazards should be lakes, bunkers, rough….. but not overgrown bushes on almost every hole.

This course could easily be 5 stars , and the employees were pleasant.

A far cry from what the practice facilities were like when new. Upstairs is closed, see the pic. Mats need to be replaced. No rubber tees installed on any mats, NONE!! Ball machine is broken, so you have to walk back to the clubhouse and they give you balls that, wait for it… need replacing as well. I drove out of my way to come see the glorious practice facility and I must say it was the biggest let down so far in all of Las Vegas. Feel free to thank me for my feedback, but I don’t need it. Just fix your place for the love of golf!

It was my first time back playing here after a few years and overall it was a good experience. I'll echo other reviewers - the course isn't in top notch shape but you can tell they're trying to get it there. It's still very playable (if you can keep the ball in the fairway!) I'm a sucker for Dye designed courses so I enjoy the layout and challenges they typically present. You'll hit more 3w and 5w off the tee here, even from the back tees. I'd argue the highlights of this course are the staff and customer service - shoutout to Greg for the hospitality and Izzy for getting me out 2 hours ahead of my tee time so I could get home to finish some work. Will be back frequently!

I had to leave a review of this place, as the 1 star reviews are not fair in my experience.

The best thing about this place is the people, everyone was brilliant, all over the venue. They make it.

The course itself is lovely, but tired. I think most of the issues are from the patrons though. Lots of non-repaired pitch marks, broken tees all over the tee boxes, bunkers not being raked after shots, trash blowing around. Green keepers are one thing, but everyone using the course should look after it.

I think with some tidying up this place could be another level

Incredibly overpriced and just not what the course used to be.

It’s sad because the Dye Design (PB, not Pete) at one time was a blast to play: crazy tight fairways, some excellent green complexes, and a fair value.

Those days are long gone as the golf explosion continues to raise the prices, and golf courses that are nowhere near the value they are charging are taking advantage.

I will give Desert Pines a little credit for redoing the greens. If they can keep them firm and fast, it will be a lot better when springtime conditions roll around.

But, for the time being, there is just way better golf to play in Vegas.

I would have loved to see Desert Pines find some way to incorporate lights into the course. With such a small property and so many holes running alongside one another (you will have people playing a different hole on your fairway, that’s a given), it would have been a fun place to play at night during the high summer temps.

It sucks the Vegas Valley is losing another course, but if I’m being honest, this one is not going to be missed.

I also want to say that Joe, aka HittinGreens, is a HUGE fan of this place, and it’s why I’ve added a star to the ranking. Some enjoyment can be found on the course; that’s a given. But as I compare it to how it was just 5-6 years ago, it’s sad to see it how it’s being managed now.

Fun course cool layout a chance to go low, BUT would not play unless you are a resident not nearly worth $129

Played there ahead of a tournament later this summer. It has a lot of potential to be a great course but it seems there just needs to be a bit more TLC given to the course. I’m hoping it’s in good shape in June and cleaned up.

We had good in the clubhouse prior to playing and the portions are huge!

With just a little more focus on course maintenance it could be a great track.
