Couldn't recommend enough. I have been attending Simon's evening classes for the past six weeks and it has been a great experience. Simon is very patient, breaks techniques down in a very digestible way and will also meet you where you are which is awesome if you're a complete beginner. The rest of the staff is also very welcoming, the students are great, very helpful and all take care of their training partners, particularly the newbies.

I live overseas but regularly visit SJJA Crows Nest whilst travelling in Sydney. The staff and students are very welcoming and accommodating. Special shout out to Professor Rob for his great coaching in the early morning sessions. It's a great gym for beginners and experienced grapplers.

SJJA Crowes Nest was a great experience for me. I was interested in picking up a martial art but wasn’t sure what would be the right fit for me. The respect and discipline of the class mates and teacher had me engaged in every class I joined. They provide an excellent foundation for anyone interested in Ju Jitsu or a complete beginner like me with no experience in any fighting styles. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in picking up a new hobby.

I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu for the past three years across different academies due to moving houses. After recently relocating to the area, I discovered SJJA Crows Nest and decided to check it out. It’s been over a month now, and I must say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

The lunch classes with Professor Almiro have been a highlight for me. His expertise in BJJ is evident, and yet he maintains a friendly and approachable demeanor. Additionally, attending morning classes with Professor Rob has been motivating, pushing us hard at 6 am while keeping the energy levels high for the rest of the day.

It’s clear that SJJA is committed to creating a welcoming environment for all students, whether they have competitive goals or train for recreation and stress relief. The exceptional level of expertise across the board makes SJJA a balanced academy. I would highly recommend SJJA to anyone interested in training BJJ, as it provides a friendly, competitive, and respectful environment where you can balance life and training effectively.

SJJA Crows Nest is a great place for my kids to learn a great self-defence skill and increase their confidence. This is the only activity during the week that my daughters are super excited about and don't want to miss. The professors are awesome. They manage pretty big turnout of students in each class very effectively and give attention to everyone in the class.

I have personally learned martial arts Karate and Jiu Jitsu for almost 10 years. I highly recommend SJJA Crows Nest and if I ever go back to training with 3 young kids I will join them blind folded.
