We celebrated our son’s 7th birthday party at Life Ki-do this weekend and we can’t say enough about how fun and unique it was! Our son and his group of friends had such a blast on the ninja obstacle course and activities that Sensei Deven took them thru. They were also able to include our almost 3 year old son and he was thrilled. We are planning on having our son start classes here soon!

I’m so grateful to the folks at Life Kido for creating such a truly unique birthday party experience for my 5 year old twins and their friends. To see my children not only have fun and learn new skills but to be spoken to with respect and genuine curiosity filled my heart with so much joy and appreciation for the space they created. We love Life Ki-do!! We do weekly classes and our son looks forward to this so much. They really focus on self control and awareness, while making it super fun. We also recently had a birthday party there- and wow! It was so special and fun!!

We had our sons 6 year old both day party here and had a blast! We loved the ninja course, and all the other martial arts activities and really appreciated Sensei Devens joy and attitude with the kids. You can tell he loves children and loves creating mad fun and safe space for them. I highly recommend a party or a lesson here!

We had our son's birthday party here about two years ago and were simply floored by the experience. The entire mind-body focus is simply amazing. They teach and expect courtesy and respect from the first minute in the dojo. We immediately signed him up for weekly classes. The program goes beyond traditional martial arts and focuses just as much on life skills and how to be a confident, well-rounded and resilient person. These are skills everyone needs at any age. That they are so accessible to children is simply magic. *I* would sit there during my son's classes and get a lot out of the Sensei's stories and lessons as well. They are universally applicable. I sensed our older son could benefit from the classes, but he was hesitant to join. I finally nudged him into the dojo and he took to the classes immediately, found his rhythm, and did well. The Sensei's all do an amazing job of meeting each child where they are and providing the appropriate - often personalized - instruction and motivation. I feel these classes are far better than the social emotional learning they try to teach in the schools. Life Ki Do is practical, hands-on, and immediately applicable. The energy of the entire place is very up-lifting. Absolutely one of our family's favorite places in Austin, or dare I say, the entire country. Thank you.

Life Ki-do is our family’s favorite extracurricular activity. Instructors truly care about students and staff works with families to ensure unique needs are met. My kids look forward to class each week and I see a positive change in their self control that extends to their behavior at home. Observing how Sensei Doug supports and guides the kids during class has taught me some useful parenting techniques as well.

Our family has been extremely happy in our experience with Life Ki-do, for several reasons! We enrolled our five year old son to help him build his ability to focus during group activities and as a way to channel and express his physical energy safely and productively – Life Ki-do has benefitted him immensely in those areas! His confidence and patience has significantly grown since starting Life Ki-do and he started using Life Ki-do breathing methods both at home and school as a way to focus his attention. The Sensei staff are exceptional at leading large groups of kids – Sensei Doug has an incredible feel for balancing fun with pushing his students' capacity to listen, reflect, and safely participate in the class. Finally, we've been very pleased with the financial investment in Life Ki-do: their monthly rate is very reasonable for what you receive, they build into the monthly rate all additional materials for supporting the student (including a great book for parents by Sensei Jonathan and all belts as the student progresses through the class), and they have a very flexible make-up class policy.
Life Ki-do has been an integral factor in our son's growth over the past year; I couldn't recommend it more highly.

We have 5 kids, so we have a lot of experience with Austin’s birthday party offerings - Life Ki-Do was the best orchestrated party we have ever had! Sensei Deven was so great with all the kids and made it super special for each of our twins. We did the party at the dojo and all walked over to Austin Pizza (same parking lot) and it was the perfect party combo!
