The Parker Self Defense team goes above and beyond!

I'm one of those who has always wanted to take martial arts and self defense classes, but had no idea where to start. There are so many options out there, and of course every instructor will tell you that They are the best one...I was referred to Parker Self Defense by a friend, and all it took was one class to get me hooked.

They have three black belt instructors, which is great for providing different teaching styles. They all do an amazing job on tailoring the self defense techniques to each student, since not every student is the same. Every class is fun and full of positive energy! The instructors there have really created a safe, fun, and open minded learning environment. I've been taking their classes for seven months now, and still LOVE it! I highly recommend Parker Self Defense!!

I love parker self defense. I have been going to classes for over 3 years now. I had never needed the things until last week. My biggest fear was if I was ever in a situation where I needed to defend myself I would freeze up. Well I was attacked at a train station waiting to go home. I was able to defend myself without even thinking about it. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to learn how to defend yourself. All of the instructors are amazing and wonderful and make everyone feel welcome. The classes are also a lot of fun too!! I will keep going to classes for as long as I can.

Jan, Chris and Gene are awesome. From communicating with Gene and figuring a date to actually come check it out to being welcomed by Jan and instructed by Chris I couldn’t have walked away more fulfilled. I’m grateful that nonprofits like this exist and look forward to coming back.
Location is a bit hard to find but the staff will gladly take your call if you need some handholding as you find the facility. Overall a super empowering experience. Check them out! 10/10 would recommend to my family and friends.

Can't recommend this place enough! They lead a beginner self defense class for the Women's Dental Club at CU Anschutz. Learned so much from the class. Very hands on. Everyone there is very knowledgable. If you are looking for passionate people to teach a self defense class this is the place!

Parker self-defense is an invigorating, encouraging and at times intimidating experience that is both practical and informative. The instruction is straightforward and easy to understand, the instructors are strict in teachings but easy going in attitude. The sensei in particular Gene Twombly is highly knowledgeable and easy to approach for questions or problems. Progression through the belts is truly rewarding and makes you feel that you put in the work and accomplished something that makes you feel that much stronger and tougher.

Great self defense class. Make sure to follow the Google directions instead of the Apple Maps. Otherwise Apple takes you to the wrong location. Overall the class was very informative and instructors had one on one advice and corrections for defense movements.

In the few months I have been attending training here, I’ve learned a lot about protecting myself. The techniques and skills taught here empower you and promote confidence. From learning to be situationally aware to learning not to be a victim. Instructors are great and very helpful.
