Competitive Edge has been amazingly transformative for my kids. We joined to help my youngest with behavioral challenges as he started kindergarten. He has gone from being written up and me receiving phone calls from the principal to his school reducing his RTI to only twice a month. His physical engagement has been less than once a week down from over ten issues weekly. As a result of him joining, I enrolled my other two children as well. I have seen their confidence and conflict/resolution improve in ways I hadn’t noticed that they needed. Coach K takes the time to work individually with each kid on a specific behavior plan so everyone can improve. We love this place and can’t say enough about it!

I really can’t say enough wonderful things about Competitive Edge or the phenomenal instructors and coaches. Ms. Christy is a joy and always so helpful at the front desk. I love that Coach K is so devoted to each and every child and family that comes through his door. I have had so much fun not only watching my own children grow over the last 6-8 months but also so many others! It’s become such a secondary family and a blessing for my daughter especially. Coach Tim does an excellent job with the children in each age group as well as the teens, apprentices, and adults! He is patient but firm and always brings a positive attitude and a fun energy that the children adore. He knows his stuff and is excellent at teaching the children in a way that grasps their focus and attention. My daughter has become more disciplined, more confident, and has really found a passion in MMA and I firmly believe it is in large part due to the wonderful environment that they have created here. They go beyond training and are constantly working on life skills, character development, self worth, emotional control, etc. As a mom that’s been through multiple sports, different facilities, and lot’s of coaches over the years this place really checks all the boxes and while pricey it is worth every cent when you see the personal growth your children will make here! We live about 30 min away and they are well worth the commute. Bring your kids in and check it out, you definitely won’t regret it!

This martial arts gym is a truly impactful place that has fostered incredible physical, mental, and emotional growth for my family and me. Led by the exceptional Head Coach Dean and Coach Tim, both of whom are remarkable teachers and mentors, the program offers a diverse range of training—including kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, judo, grappling, self-defense, and weapons defense—that challenges and strengthens our bodies. Over the past year, I’ve experienced significant improvements in my physical fitness, but more importantly, I've gained invaluable confidence and resilience, equipping me to tackle life’s challenges head-on. This training cultivates not only discipline and focus but also emotional intelligence and stress management, transforming how we handle adversity. The community here is supportive and encouraging, creating an environment that prioritizes holistic personal development. The kids’ program is particularly outstanding as it isn't a one-size-fits-all approach; the coaches meticulously tailor their instruction based on each child's unique character and personality. They truly care about the heart of each child, providing amazing opportunities for developing personal, relational, and real-world leadership skills. This gym is more than just a place to train; it’s a nurturing community that empowers you and your children to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally into your best selves!

The coaches did a great job training the kids and I don't have any issues on that side. I have a problem with their integrity and staying true to their word. I would recommend that anyone interested in joining not sign a contract. The program is expensive and the main reason we had hesitations about joining. We started with a trial that would allow us to exit the contract, when we came to the end of the trial our finances were very tight and we did not want to continue. We were told we could continue doing month-to-month option and stop anytime we needed. This was FALSE! Once you continue on, their contract automatically turns into a long type of contract and we have been continually billed for 4 months now and have not set foot in their building. When I spoke to the head coach I was told, "Well at this point you only have a few months left".......seriously?....so we should keep paying and not attending? Then, they tried selling us on freezing the account (which you still are paying for) and they will let you use the unused classes at a later time. I just wanted out. Competitive Edge doesn't want to live up to their end of what was told to us. They claimed to care about our financial concerns, which were communicated to them clearly and the reason we both agreed to continue on a month-to-month basis. If they really cared they wouldn't act like this and would fix the issue immediately. This isn't the first time we have heard this from other participants, and the reviews are telling. Our CC company is handling this now.

Great service during my 30-day free trial. I didn't get exactly what I expected. Instead of learning specific moves like hooks and such, it felt more like a workout. We still did punching and kicking, but that wasn't the focus. It was very apparent that their focus was general self-improvement. They also don't drive a belt system as heavily. You can still do that if you want, but it's not required. They also have a very welcoming environment. All of the instructors and students are friendly, and they all respect the pace that everyone else wants to go at. All in all, I've had a great experience with them, so far!
