John is a great instructor and provided us over the top knowledge and experiences during class. You can see his passion for teaching this stuff. Attending this class as a woman I felt welcomed and heard with questions that I had. Later on in class Erin and Tracy joined in and they were wonderful as well, as a woman it is great to be able to talk one on one with them for a little bit about this topic. I had questions about a particular fire arm and Sean was a great help in looking at one for me to see if anything was wrong with it.
Thank you Lightning Defense Academy for a great experience.

Yo tome mi clase y entrenamiento de portación oculta con el instructor José!. José es un experto en las leyes de illinois, se tomo el tiempo necesario para explicar la case y responder mis preguntas que yo tenia. Definitivamente yo recomiendo tomar su clase 100% en español con José! John tiene un excelente servicio al cliente igual que José, john es un experto. What an experience this CCL class was! John and his team are true professionals, very knowledgeable about firearms and the law! Highly recommend to anyone looking to obtain their CCL, no matter what your skill level is, they will take care of you! Can't wait to sign up for other classes he offers! Also his store is great with the best deals around!

First time stopping in at Lightning defense for their concealed carry class. John, Tracey, Erin and team are friendly, no-nonsense instructors that preach what they practice.

Also had a lot of my family stop in to buy ammo. Most responsibly priced ammo in the area.

Instructor was a complete professional and set me up with everything I needed to become a successful instructor. Went above and beyond to give me all the knowledge he had on not only classroom info but also business stand point. Walked me through everything of importance and ensured I was ready to do the job. Great networking, great location, nicely set up classroom, made everything SAFE, fun, and informative. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANY CLASS!

Came here to get my conceal license and had the best experience while i was there even bought my first gun with no issues at all! quick and easy. John was my instructor and the guy is amazing at teaching and i definitely recommend anyone who is thinking of getting their concealed license to come here!
