Peak Performance in Foster City is a great Taekwondo school. Been going there with my daughter for 3 and a half years, and have seen us advance a lot. For me (51), it is a perfect way to share fun time with my daughter (14) while exercising and improving self-defense skills and confidence. The recently added adult classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings are perfect for me.

We had an amazing birthday experience for my son. Coach Lopez led the party and had kids do a ton of fun activities and made sure my son felt like a star. The staff did everything and were very organized.

Apart from the birthday, we joined the Taekwondo classes and are very happy with the quality of the classes and the flexibility, my son loves it and gets really excited on the day of training!

My kids have been coming to Gold Medal/Peak Performance for 6 years and love it. It's not only learning martial arts but the life skills that Master Perez and other instructors are imparting - truly character building. If you're looking for average training to just get a black belt, this is not the place for you, since they have high standards but your kids will have a meaningful experience while working hard towards achieving their goal. Very thankful for having Peak Performance/Gold Medal in our community.

My son Keanu has been coming to Peak Performance (formerly Gold Medal) for over 4 years. He has been under the instruction of Herb Perez who won the Gold Medal in taekwondo at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. My son really enjoys coming to Peak Performance and working with Herb, his staff and other students.

I wanted to take a moment and talk about what I most admire about Herb. When someone has the level of success Herb has had, it would be really easy for him be hard on students that don't have the same ability as he did. Herb and his staff never pushed my son too hard. They let Keanu come in, work at his own pace and pushed him only at the right times. The long game is working as my son Keanu is really enjoying class and has now asked to come in 3 days a week instead of 2 days a week to train more.

When my son first joined 4 years ago, there were a bunch of students. I didn't know if he was just going to be a number. I am happy to report that Keanu is not just a number to Herb and his staff. When I look into Herb's eyes, I can see that he really cares about my son and wants what is best for his future. What parent could ask for more? Herb has plenty of students but was also nice enough to praise our family for our loyalty with staying with him through the pandemic which means the world to us.

I highly recommend Peak Performance to anyone looking to better themselves or their children!

I can see why the reviews are so high. This is a state of the art facility and unlike any other on the Peninsula. My family joined and I couldn’t resist trying a class.
I’m now a yellow belt next to my son and it is the perfect bonding time.
More importantly the owner and staff are amazing role models and stand out in the community as example of small town hero’s.
Their self defense program is state of the art and their 3 year old class is great to build self confidence in our daughter.
You can also watch class form the outdoor seating area or on TV
They broadcast classes every day.
