My son and I have been training at Lovato’s for a few years now. It’s been a great experience and we’ve learned so much. It is a large facility and very clean. My son and I have made so many great friends here and the community here makes you feel like family.

I barely know where to begin. Training at Lovato's School of BJJ has been life-changing for me. I began my Jiu-Jitsu journey after we enrolled my son in the Little Warriors program at Lovato's. We were looking for an activity that would provide some positive structure to our typically wild 4 year old. After spending a couple of months being completely blown away by the kids programs, I mentioned, in passing, to my wife, that maybe I'd like to try training Jiu-Jitsu. She gave me the greatest Father's day gift by purchasing a 6 month adult program membership. Right before starting training, I was overweight, had just had to increase the dosage of my blood pressure meds, and was pretty much a couch potato. A year and half later I am 30 lbs lighter, have reduced by blood pressure meds, and have become pretty much obsessed with training. I've seen huge improvements in my health, mental state, and overall well-being. At same time, I've watched my son grow both in behavior and skill.

The family atmosphere along with the truly World Class training is impossible to beat. I really can't imagine a school where you have the opportunity to train with a BJJ and MMA World Champion, a host of incredible coaches and training partners, and feel so much a part of a family and team.

My son and I continue to challenge ourselves each day and can hardly wait to get back on the Lovato mats. Do yourself a favor and try this school. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!

I’ve been training at Lovatos for a little over 2 years now and I can’t recommend this academy enough. All the coaches are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, and the facility is amazing! I have learned SO much and feel lucky to be able to learn from Professor Lovato himself. Bjj can be intimidating to start, especially as a female, but the people I have met at this academy are incredible and I am extremely thankful because they have become dear friends. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and just want to see you progress and succeed. It is the best team I’ve been a part of and am so glad for the opportunity to train here. If you’re thinking about starting bjj, Lovato’s should be your place.

Ladies- if you’re looking for a place to train this is by far the best academy. The coaches & staff are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Professor Lovato goes above and beyond continuing to bring the best martial arts knowledge and discipline to Oklahoma.
I highly recommend Lovato Jiu Jitsu for the entire family!!

I watched my kiddos train BJJ for years before finally stepping on to the mats myself. I observed patterns and behaviors. I felt comfortable training at Lovatos for many reasons but mainly because I was surrounded by people who encouraged me. Never once have I felt less because of my small stature or my gender. Like every group dynamic there are going to be things that may not jive perfectly with your mindset or your energy, but I’ve encountered mostly members that truly care for each other and motivate those around them. I have made some very dear friends at Lovatos and feel grateful for how jiu jitsu has fortified the journey I seek.

My son started training at Lovato’s in August 2022. My daughter and I started in May 2023. I have been truly lucky to be a part of many special communities in my life and I would count Lovato’s academy as one of the best. It is one of the rare exceptions in life of a place of sincere positivity, encouragement, personal engagement, challenge, and real relationship. Professor Lovato and all the Professors and coaches work very hard to build and maintain that culture and our family is lucky to be a part of it. If you are considering starting training yourself or looking for a place for your son or daughter or family member or friend, you won’t find a better gym in OKC or (I think) anywhere.

Ladies if you’re looking for a place to train steer well clear from Lovatos Bjj. Everything you hear about the culture there is true. If you have any desire to be an accepted member of the community look elsewhere. I even referred a friend there whose son wanted to start. He was a 17 year old very respectful young man. He showed up to his first class and they talked down to him and basically called him a liar. When his mom asked me wth is with that I actually stood up for their behavior and told her the vibes are just weird there when you first start but it gets better. I gave two years to that place in hopes that I’d be a part of the group, but it never happened. Funny enough is often we’d have female visitors come in from out of state and I would do what is always just expected of us ladies and make sure to greet them and make them feel welcome. And almost every single time when they would prepare to leave they’d ask me if they always treated women like that. They almost all said they felt like the entire room was doing their best to ignore them. That they had always been greeted with enthusiasm everywhere else when they visited other gyms in their travels. I gave it two full years of trying to earn respect and never measured up enough to earn it. I spoke with the owner about it and he said that I was “new” and everyone would warm up to me eventually. That was at almost a year! Not long after that I was sitting on the mats and overheard a couple of guys talking and one guy had been there just a couple months (a transplant from another gym) and he said he’d felt so welcome by everyone and was so glad to be a part of the team. And once in a while I’d have to bring one of my kids to afternoon adult class, and anytime they’d make even the slightest noise the instructor would immediately come over to me and tell me to go quiet my child. Mind you they never were overly loud. The place echoes something awful so any noise is going to be mildly irritating, but my kids NEVER got overly disruptive and if I found it disruptive to class I would do my mom thing and ensure he was being as quiet as reasonably possible. But ANY noise my child would make would immediately cause the instructor to come over and tell me to tell my child to stop making noise.

Fantastic instruction with very intentional staff. Very focused on building confidence and sense of community for all Junior Warriors participants. Our family has really enjoyed our time there!
