Updawg Jiu Jitsu has literally changed my life. Post-pandemic, I was looking to get into something to get back into shape, but really wanted to find a place that would prep me to compete when I was ready. Nick was extremely welcoming and continues to create one of the best martial arts vibes I’ve experienced: fun, laid-back but competitive. Everyone wants to get better and will help others to reach their goals as well. I know it’s cliche to say that this group is like “family”, but how else do you describe a group of folks who will push you to your limits one minute and give you pointers while highlighting your strengths. If you’re looking for a place to start or to take your training to the next level, Updawg JiuJitsu is the place to be.

I had a great experience with this crew. I came in a few months ago as a nervous young guy who was brand new to the sport. All the guys were welcoming and helped me find confidence on the mat. Great place to train,the instructors welcomed me with open arms. Nick and Brad are very knowledgeable and will help you step step where you can learn the techniques and help you have a great understanding when you walk out that door. I’ve been here a couple of months and as someone who has been following the sport for 6 years I can say this is one of the best places you can come to train. Up there with Memphis Judo and BJJ. The people have been warm and inviting and I’ve gotten much, much better since starting here. The mats are high quality and very clean. There’s always plenty of space. There are challenging rolls here but also a lot of new people. If you’re new or getting back into it after a long time, this is probably the best place to be.

Literally one of the best places to learn and progress I'm originally from NYC and never felt more welcomed and comfortable in my time here. The men and women that I've met here are absolutely top-tier and respectful of each other the head Coach Nick is one of the kind and he recently got his brown belt and I couldn't think of a more deserving person to get it. I appreciate everything he's taught me thanks my guy look forward to the next class.
