I decided to try jiu-jitsu on a whim while having acai with my daughter at Bom Brazil. My first impressions of the gym is there's focus on environment, culture, family, and high level training. Bueno is a very clean and family friendly gym that values a positive culture on and off the mats. Parents like myself can train with focus and confidence that their child is in a safe environment. Douglas, the head instructor and owner, is an incredibly experienced jiu jitsu athlete who trained along with many of the greats in the jiu jitsu world in his career. My family high recommends Bueno Jiu Jitsu to anyone who is looking to take that first step into a challenging but very rewarding journey.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bueno Jiu Jitsu and had an amazing time. Professor Bueno is an excellent instructor, and I highly recommend this place. The facility itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly. It truly felt like a home away from home. We are not from the Lubbock area but were in town for a couple days so we stopped in on one of the days to see if my daughter could train here and the owner/coach was very friendly and let her train with them and told us we can come any time we are in town. She really enjoyed the training here and wants to come back next time we’re in town.

My kids used to go here about a year ago. The instructors were very patient and nice, but firm. Always helping my Lil ones. Would love to get my kids back into it again.

I currently reside in Houston Texas and have been training for a short time. I really enjoyed the classes, teachers, and students. It was very structured and teachers were very patient. I appreciated that and I felt welcome. It's extremely challenging to go into a unfamiliar place and train. As a woman, I have a strong desire to be able to protect myself and others. The BEST place to join! Family atmosphere. Great for many ways- learning a new skill, workout, competition, or just to make new friends. My family and I love this gym and most importantly the people apart of it. My kids enjoy their classes and Professor Douglas keeps it fun for all ages. He is a great teacher and mentor. Do yourself a favor and try this out. It could change your life for the better, like it did mine.

This is by far the best gym I have ever been too! I train here with coach Douglas and he is the most kind, funny man I have ever met! He is great with kids and, he provides great discipline too.
The mats are always clean and so are the floors. They have a little set of workout equipment, and stuff for games, as well as some couches to spectate the classes.
Everything about this place is great! Don't worry because if you forget your belt or your gi they have extras.
