Back in January, my son and I signed up to start our journey with Gracie Barra Jefferson City. Within two weeks, my daughter wanted to start training! Not only were they welcoming from the get go, they were very patient and really took their time to teach the warm ups and techniques. They really care about their students. After a little while, I personally had to take a step back because of finances, but the kids were able to continue to train. Not only were they accommodating to that, they continued to treat me, even though I wasn’t a training member, like a member and family like they treat my kids. My kids absolutely love their coaches! Super respectful, super professional, super awesome at their craft! We love it here! Thanks GBJC!

We enrolled my four year old three months ago. He was struggling with ADHD, aggressions and impulse control. Since starting at Gracie Barra, his behaviors have gotten substantially better at both school and home due to the discipline they instill in the sport. All of the coaches have been great with him and take the extra time necessary to help children understand and correctly do the exercises and steps. They coaches are also great at making sure safety is a top priority. I couldn’t recommend them more.

I can’t evaluate in comparison to other martial arts, or other gyms teaching the same discipline, as this is the only one I have attended. However, BJJ as a whole has been an excellent experience. The classes that fit my schedule focus on sport, but classes are also available with emphasis on fitness, or self-defense.

For this specific gym, the atmosphere is welcoming. Their tagline is “Jujitsu for everyone,” and they take it seriously. Whatever your size or skill level, these coaches work hard to ensure your needs are met. A few women train here, and I have always seen them treated with respect. Others, with more experience, have told me Gracie Barra gyms tend to be excellent, and Jefferson City is a particularly friendly and professional location to work out and train.

Great place for your kids to learn all the skills they need. My son absolutely loves it here. All the coaches and staff are phenomenal people to work with. The atmosphere here at the jeff location is out of this world. They always make you feel so welcomed and part of the Gracie Barra family. The owner Rob, Professor Bruno and Coach Jose are all genuine, professional and caring people. They as well as every student welcomed me and showed nothing but respect! Very polite people.
The gym is very clean and well ran. (There’s also a nice view of Jefferson City landscape out their windows which I enjoyed)
If you’re on the fence, go visit them. They are open and honest people?

I've been training at Gracie Barra in O'Fallon, Missouri for over a year now and decided to drop in unannounced to the Jefferson City location. So my review is based on my experience for the one class. There were about 10 people total including myself that showed up for the noon class. So it wasn't overly crowded and i was welcomed right away by all the students. Everyone i met treated me like family! I was really impressed with Coach Kirsten and how detail oriented her instruction was.. She really knows her Jiu Jitsu! The gym itself has a nice lay out, none of the equipment was torn up, the mats felt brand new! A very clean facility and very professional! I plan to train here again, next time I'm in the area!
