Edwin Rodriguez worked with my 12 year old son, teaching him the basics of self-defense and middle school bully counter-measure techniques. We could not be more pleased with Edwin. He is a dynamic and thoughtful instructor and he knows his craft very, very well. He adapted and tailored each lesson to my son's abilities, emphasizing to him both the mental and physical needs of personal self defense. He is a hands-on instructor who is very easy to work with and devotes 100% of himself to the student and the lesson. We emphatically recommend him to anyone looking for instruction in martial arts, self-defense or any other discipline he offers. When my son is ready for the next level of training, we will be back without hesitation.

My teenage daughter and I recently completed 6 self-defense lessons with Edwin. We both feel more empowered, aware, and ready. Edwin creates a safe, comfortable environment, and is patient, even with those who have no experience. I obtained specific skills, some of them very simple but effective. He focused his instruction on real-life situations that women might encounter. Most importantly, he inspired a new perspective in me. He is encouraging and also attuned to a person's individual strengths, which makes him an excellent teacher!

My 14 year old son has been training with Edwin Rodriguez for only about three weeks. We drive over an hour to come to his classes and it is well worth it! He is teaching him the basics of self-defense and bullying response techniques. He is very knowledgeable and works with everyone at their own level and abilities. He is patient when teaching both the mental and physical needs of self defense. I would recommend him to young men and women as well as any adult looking for instruction in martial arts or self defense. We plan on continuing lessons and improve my son’s abilities and couldn’t be more please with the skills he is receiving.

Having trained with Edwin personally for a couple of years now, believe me when I say that you will be hard pressed to find someone who understands applicable self defense the way he does. His teachings focus on self defense that is tailored to the individual in a safe and fun atmosphere, and the greatest thing is that you don’t have to study for 10+ years to be able to utilize what he shows you, should the need ever arise. I wish Google had more than just five stars because what Edwin brings to the industry is just above and beyond. If you have been playing with the idea of starting a self defense program, if you are looking for a fun friendly atmosphere to get a workout in, or if you are a lifetime martial artist looking to upgrade your skill set, you owe it to yourself to give this man a call and schedule a trial. You won’t be disappointed.

Edwin Rodriguez is by far the most knowledgeable instructor within the academy. Knows what hes doing and especially with the children training classes! Always looking for the best in people. I highly recommend Edwin's DX and the Filipino kali training . Edwin trains under Tuhon Tim Waid and always shares the knowledge with his students.

DX is a unique combatives system that will give you the tools you need to be able to protect yourself and your loved ones. It will get you home safely. It's a great place to learn and train.

Edwin and Anna came to our facility and held a self defense class for about 20 teenage girls. It was a fantastic event. They were professional and informative. We will definitely be looking forward to working with them in the future.

Great class, awesome instructors.. I would definitely recommend to a friend!!! I did ground combat, Edwin was my instructor very informative and fun. Definitely bring a towel and water it was more of a workout then expected. Will definitely be going back!!
