Golden Dragon is one of the jewels of Los Angeles. I have been a student for one year now and I can say it has changed my life. I cannot imagine ever stopping my chi gong and tai chi practice. This is why—

· The club and tea room are inspiring spaces that are beautifully and carefully designed and decorated. The mood and ambiance are of the highest quality. If you are a tea connoisseur and love traditional Chinese tea, you will deeply appreciate their collection. It is by far the best tea I have ever had in my life!

· The students have become sincere friends and I look forward to seeing every one of them in class. Not everyone can become a student. You will first meet with Sandy or Dima and then if you qualify, you would meet with Master Valery who would then decide whether or not the school is the right fit for you. Everyone here is a stellar human being with a deep commitment to the practice and teachings.

· Master Valery is a remarkable teacher — one of my favorite parts of the school are his monthly lectures. Sandy and Dima have learned everything from him and are formidable teachers in their own rights. Everything here is about details and practicing the right technique. Formidable insights await if you stick with practice for several months.

What this club is not is another fitness thing. This is a way of life and a community that is rooted in the ancient practice of Chinese martial arts. The classes will challenge you regardless of your fitness level. After a year, my practice has changed my body, I am stronger, more fit and flexible than ever. I feel more calm and peace. I feel supported and a sense of belonging and guidance provided by teachers and students I fully trust.

Golden Dragon is definitely is hidden gem in LA. My journey with this amazing martial art club has started 5 years ago and I’m still excited to go back for my KungFu and Qigong classes. Teachers are very knowledgeable and professional there, each class is tailored for students wisely. I feel a huge transformation in my body for sure much healthier and stronger. Also you have a great sense of community here: tea time after class with students is my favorite. I highly recommend Grandmaster Valery he’s a teacher you meet once in lifetime.

Real, authentic, traditional Chinese martial arts taught by a genuine master... Golden Dragon is a place to learn the true essence of what being a martial artist really is. It's much bigger than just learning techniques, self-defense, and/or how to fight. The Martial Arts are a way of being, and this is exactly what is taught at Golden Dragon by Master Valery.

Whether one feels called to the practice of Chi Gong, Tai Chi, or Kung Fu, here you will find that all are interconnected, not separate, and therefore students receive traditional teachings not commonly available to the public. Los Angeles is very fortunate to have been blessed with the presence of a true master whose knowledge, wisdom, and passion for the martial arts has created a unique and special learning environment at Golden Dragon.

I found this great place two years ago when my husband and I came there to buy some Chinese tea, which I must say was delicious. That’s when we learned that they offer KungFu and Tai chi classes and we decided to sign up and try it. We fell in love with their approach and we’ve been practicing martial arts since then. I’m happy to call this place my second home, you get a sense of a community where you are supported and where you learn new things. Once a month they have lectures where grandmaster Valery teaches invaluable life lessons through martial arts approach. This place is a part of my life and hopefully I’ll be practicing martial arts all my life, considering how it helps my body feel stronger and healthier.

Stumbled across golden dragon wanting to learn martial arts and I couldn't be more grateful for ending up here. Since i started training here, i've seen so much improvement in my physical and mental wellbeing. Master Valery, Sandy and Dima are amazing instructors and have created such a wonderful space and community. They also have a wonderful selection of Chinese teas that are incredible! Couldn't recommend Golden Dragon enough!
